Hi Everyone! A big welcome to all the new readers!
For all you online class junkies, I am offering a new class online starting in January 1!
Have you ever wanted to learn how to paint details for depth and realism on your quilts?
If the answer is yes, read on. My popular Painted & Fused Morning Glory class is going to be offered online to the general public for the first time. I have taught this class many times and each time I’m awed at the fabulous results everyone gets, with each flower being slightly different.
Here is the general idea for the class:
Fused applique is fast, fun and very creative. Applying a little textile paint to add depth to your flower or landscape can be addicting. Here’s a class where you learn how to do both!! In this class, I provide an original morning glory pattern made from my photo. We will cover the basics of fusing fabric, choosing fabrics and colors to make your piece shine, and painting for depth and realism with a little bit of fabric paint. You will learn how to mix colors and apply your paints for gorgeous results. Your fused and painted piece will then be ready for you to quilt on your own. I will also give examples on how to quilt your painted morning glory. You will be given supply lists for your painting tools, so all of the leg work has been done for you!
This class is open for registration now and starts January 1 and is only $39.00!
And you can do it at your own pace in your own house, in your jammies, without running around. All lessons will be available to you at the same time, in case you get inspired and want to work fast.
Here is the linky thingy to register:
I hope you will enjoy this fun class, it will remind you of Spring in the middle of Winter!
And, you will learn all the techniques I used to paint my latest landscape art quilt…..see below…..
Biltmore Quilt Update
By the way, I went with a traditional 3/8″ binding of hand dyed fabric for my Biltmore quilt. I’ve added another lick or two of paint to soften some edges, but I think it’s finally done (minus the sleeve and the label :)) I’ve entered it into the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Fest for it’s first show. We’ll see what the judges think!
Would you like to work with me one on one?
This just in! Susan has just let me know, she sold this quilt! Congratulations, Susan!
One of my private clients, Susan, has had her quilt, “Nature Takes Back Her Own”, accepted into the prestigious Houston IQA World of Beauty Show.
