Hi Everyone! Happy Spring!
Gracie has been helping me in the studio, lately. I have to hide small pieces of fabric so she doesn’t eat them, but I caught her here taking a nap in cushy hand- dyed fabric. How many cats can say they can take a nap in a hand- dyed bed?
I love to work in the studio with my gorgeous hand dyed colors, adding them piece by piece to the new Opal art quilt. Huey helps me too. Do these pieces go together? He seems a bit unfazed.
Here is a section put together that looks like a sleeve of a jacket.
But it actually went here on the upper left. Now I am attaching major sections together. I still keep the paper pattern on the back of the pieces to keep grain lines stable and to help match things up.
And here is one of the kitties inspecting the next wave of pieces cut out from the main pattern.
This is where that piece goes in the overall piece. Everything below that has been pieced in fabric and I’m working my way upwards.
And here is that pieced section with a partial section on the upper left pinned to the wall.
Here is a close up.
I would love to see what you all are working on. Please send me a jpeg from your camera or phone to my email. It was really fun when I ran the contest to see what other people were working on. And let me know if you have any questions about this Opal piece, ok?
