Taking A Break at Swan Lake

Please click on the title to read the full post.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the new readers!

After finishing up the large orchid triptych, I am taking a break in my studio. This week for your viewing pleasure, I thought I would share something from the other part of my world. A video of the Royal Ballet prepping for Swan Lake. Many years ago, I completed my training in classical ballet at the Royal Ballet School and I often turn to this company for inspiration. In this video you will see the corps de ballet sharing what it is like to perform in this timeless ballet. I myself have learned these steps and can vouch for the difficulty. Also, I am going to share this video with my students so they can get a real world look at what their future is like if they pursue professional ballet. I hope you enjoy this small window into this magnificent world:

And if you need help with your quilting project, just remember I am available for 1 hour sessions by video chat or in person. Just shoot me an email and we can set up a time: roxane@roxanelessa.com.

If you are or if you know the program chair for your guild, please review my class selections (http://blog.roxanelessa.com/class-list/ ) and book me for your guild. I am still available for some dates this year or next.
If you need some more inspiration, go to the JOYFUL ART QUILTING PAGE on Facebook.

  1. The ballet video was stunning and informative. We are Carolina Ballet subscribers, but are not trained to appreciate the nuances and intricacies of ballet. I appreciate these insights.

What a privilege it is to know someone who danced these parts! It’s another precious aspect of you and your talent revealed.

    Thanks for sharing!
