A new series- here’s the first: Sunset Point


Okay folks.  You would think that I have enough series to work on.  You would think.  But when inspiration strikes, I have learned to follow wherever it takes me.  Because, really it’s all about the color and light and texture of a subject, whatever it happens to be.  And so, my attention turns from water to lack of water and what that does to the landscape, i.e. deserts.  I found this photo by Tom Bean, asked his permission to use it and got it:

I began with a wonderful piece of snow dyed fabric, and came up with this:

So, it was way too busy, and the colors were too cool for the rock formations.







Then I tried this piece my friend Sherol Lappola dyed:

Yes, I thought, now we are getting somewhere!  I broke out all the other fabric like this from my stash and re-cut the rocks.  Time consuming, but now I think you’ll agree, worth it.
