Delightful Day of Teaching

Hi Everyone! A big welcome to all the new readers!

Yesterday I had a delightful day of teaching at the Bernina world of Sewing.  I had 6 wonderful ladies, most of them had never made a fused applique art quilt.  I provided the patterns for either a hibiscus flower, seascape, or city sunset, and they went for it!  They fearlessly dove in and created these mini jewels.  I’m very proud of them, and hope they will continue to create whatever they want, now that they have the proper tools and techniques.  Here is what they created with a bit of fabric, thread, and fusible web:

It’s so great to be able to share what I know in a class.  I love seeing the excitement on their faces.  Please let your guilds and groups know that I would love to teach for them, and am booking dates to teach this year and next.

Also…..I am getting some interest from some of you about my new online class starting next month. YAY! It’s called Dancing with Design-Composition for Quilters.  If you didn’t get the memo yet- don’t worry, there’s still time to find out if this is something for you.  I’m making decisions on the what, when, and how much very soon, so if you are interested, watch your inbox.  But, I am excited about it.  I am incorporating everything I learned from doing the Master Art Quilters Guild last year, and other programs I have offered.  My intention is to give you a stellar online learning experience that helps you become better artists.

That’s it for now, have a wonderful creative week!

Did You Know? That I am on Pinterest?  Did you know that there are many amazing art quilts and traditional quilts being pinned every day, just waiting for you to look at? Never before has so much inspiration been in one place.  It’s like having an art museum in your hands.  If you haven’t checked it out, there are many, many types of things being pinned. It’s super easy to get started.  You can take a look at my pins, which are organized on different “boards” HERE.  Once you are on that page, you can click on the Get Started Button to make your own page on Pinterest.  Then start pinning!  I can spend a lot of time on Pinterest, because it’s all visual.  And I have a feeling, you will too!

CUSTOM COMMISSIONS And don’t forget, I make custom commissions too! Read what my client Glenda had to say about her custom commission experience: “Normally, I would be anxious about commissioning someone to do a work of art such as this. However, I felt a connection to you when Leigh showed me your work. It resonated with me and when I met you, you seemed almost a personification of your work. I immediately felt comfortable with you and knew that what you would create would be stunning. And it is!”
