Fresh Faces and Fresh New Work!

First I want to share some recent photos of my 2 girls, who are my greatest creations!  Cece after a college dance audition:

And Raney with her new funky glasses:

Their dad took these photos of them.

And now the latest in the Energy Series #5:

This one took a while and required some under painting and lots of fused little bits with machine quilting with Superior Glitter Thread.  By the way, I teach a class on how to use these shiny threads and other rock star threads called ThreadUtopia.  Can you tell it’s lights on water at night?

And last but not least, I’ve been dyeing to get into felting, but trying out my own mistakes   techniques with the stuff.  I got 2 huge bags of gorgeous wool + other fibers at Fiber Fest last month, and now I am playing.  I have many ideas to make sculptural pieces but for now I came up with this, and just get a load of this texture!

I will be mounting them on canvas like the Energy pieces because I think it’s easier for people to hang and enjoy, don’t you think?

P.S.  Big thanks to those of you who filled out the survey from my last, post and your freebie is coming soon!  Anyone who still wants a free piece of my art can still fill out the survey, but I’m cutting this offer off at the end of this month- so hurry!

  1. ‘Just wanted to say how sorry I am that your class at Thimble Pleasures was cancelled. I was registered to take it with my daughter and we both were really looking forward to it. Please put my name on your mailing list and let me know if/when you are scheduled to teach any other classes within this general area (Greensboro, Burlington, Chapel Hill, Durham, Cary, or Raleigh). I absolutely love your fiber art!
    Thanks so much,

    1. Thanks Bonnie, will do. I am thinking about having a class in my studio this Fall. Not sure which one, but there haven’t been enough folks signing up at the store, so it’s time to take matters into my own hands!
When I do it, I will let you and your daughter know.
