Traveling to Quilters by the Sea

Hey Everyone & A Big Welcome to New Subscribers!

A few weeks ago, I took a short drive down to Wilmington by the sea to work with a wonderful group of art quilters. They call themselves Quilters by the Sea.  It’s really fun when teaching a new group to see the light bulbs go off as people see the possibilities that open up to them with a new technique.  I taught my Painted Morning Glory Class, and I’m always astonished at the results even brand new painters can achieve with a little courage and painting technique.  I taught them the best brushes to use, the best paints and the ways to use them to create 3-D effects on fabric. We had a small problem with our paint kits because they didn’t include any white paint, but in the end we managed.  Once these have some free motion stitching added, they will really come alive even more with texture.

If you are itching to learn how to do this, please email me here and I will send you my online class for a small fee.

But for now just admire these ladies’ fabulous work: keep in mind the flower was made with just one piece of fabric and all the rest is achieved with paint.

Aren’t they cool!!!?

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and wonderful Holidays to come!

Again, I apologize for the long break in blogging- I had technical issues that stymied me. I finally go them worked out- whew!! I plan to keep blogging in the New Year about once a month with more tips and help for YOUR projects- so please if there is anything you want me to write about, comment below…..
