Hi Everyone!

Moving is right up there with divorce, death and  life’s other stressful events.

But, we won’t focus on that part of it.

Today, I want to celebrate the start of a new year, my new Private Art Coaching Practice, and my new place!

I am starting to add art like my piece, Venezia da Cece.  I am careful to hang my fiber art out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Here is the view outside the glass doors, onto the screened porch.  Somewhere through the trees is lake Johnson.

We are really enjoying the wooded view instead of ugly houses.

What else happened this week besides MOVING?  I helped hang the tree sweaters we made on Glenwood South.  Those trees will be warm, while we were NOT.  Bitter cold wind made for difficult tying.  Notice the scowl on my cold face!

But it was fun anyway, and the vendors up and down the street outdid themselves giving out free food, swag and services.  Hopefully, if you’re in downtown Raleigh, you can check them all out!  BTW, this knitting/crochet community project was started by my new friend and artist, Donna Belt, who has a studio in the Carter Bldg.

My Private Coaching is going really well.  My students are delving deeply into what makes a really great piece of textile art and making their own pieces.  I truly love passing on what I have learned.  Here’s what my client Cathy had to say after our first session:

“You already have my brain working in a different way. I had fun yesterday!”

If you are ready to take the next step in your art quilting, read about it below and schedule your free call with me!

I want you to make the most amazing, original art quilts that you can.  That is why I am now accepting private students who are serious about their creative expression in the world of art quilting.  Take advantage of my 15+ years as a textile artist, and speed up your learning curve.

Did You Know?

That I am on Pinterest?  Did you know that there are many amazing art quilts and traditional quilts being pinned every day, just waiting for you to look at?

Never before has so much inspiration been in one place.  It’s like having an art museum in your hands.  If you haven’t checked it out, there are many, many types of things being pinned.

It’s super easy to get started.  You can take a look at my pins, which are organized on different “boards” HERE.  Once you are on that page, you can click on the Get Started Button to make your own page on Pinterest.  Then start pinning!  I can spend a lot of time on Pinterest, because it’s all visual.  And I have a feeling, you will too!

And don’t forget, I make custom commissions too! Read what my client Glenda had to say about her custom commission experience:

“Normally, I would be anxious about commissioning someone to do a work of art such as this. However, I felt a connection to you when Leigh showed me your work. It resonated with me and when I met you, you seemed almost a personification of your work. I immediately felt comfortable with you and knew that what you would create would be stunning. And it is!”
