NC Quilt Symposium

Hi Everyone! A big welcome to all the new readers!

NC Quilt Symposium only happens once a year, and this year it was a gas!  I drove to Flat Rock, NC (4 hours from Raleigh) with my car loaded up.  I told myself, there is a reason why I am doing this.  And the reason was all the truly generous, terrific, talented people I got to meet and share my art with!

I got taken out to dinner several times, I had folks ooohhing and ahhing at the work I displayed in my booth, and the weather was gorgeous.

Here is the panoramic view from the window of my new friend Sandy’s beautiful house.  Sandy and her husband were so kind to  me, they took me out to dinner twice!

My booth which only took me 3.5 hours to set up….

The view from my booth of 2 very wonderful quilts (sorry for the dark picture).  Sadly, I was too busy meeting folks in my booth to take many pictures of the show.

My next door neighbor Gabi’s booth.  I bought some gorgeous hand dyes and Aboriginal prints from her.  After the show, I helped her pack up her truck, and then we enjoyed a great Thai meal in Hendersonville (who knew?).

Even my landlady where I stayed, Nancy who had a cute AirBNB at her place was so sweet.  Here is the addie of her listing in case you ever want to stay in the area:  2 Acres
989 Mine Gap Rd, Zirconia, NC 28790, United States.  All in all, it was a truly magical time, and I’m so glad I went!

Also, a quick reminder….

Some of you expressed interest in learning online how to make a 3-D Textile painting like I taught on Quilting Arts TV.
