News Flash:  I took a walk yesterday…..  I know what a boring life you lead, you say.

And you may be right, except, that was the first walk I took in almost a year in a half without pain in my right leg.  All those years of dancing had taken its toll, and my leg had frozen up with pain and immobility.  Why am I sharing this?  What does this have to do with me, you think?

First of all, to share the miracle of movement, and the joy I have in being able to move again.

Second, to share that with patience, time, and the right kind of massage and stretching, any soft tissue injury can be healed.  Thanks to my good friend Lyric Kinard, who in her blog recommended Jeff Wooten, the Body Mechanic, I am finally able to take a walk!  I have been working with Jeff since June after trying docs and PT’s. He is an excellent coach.

If you are still reading and need help with any injuries that won’t go away, or even just want a “tune up”, limp to Jeff and he will take care of you.  Of course, ya gotta do the work.  I know- the good news is you can heal.  The bad news is you will be doing a few monotonous exercises twice a day, every day, to convince your body to co-operate.  It’s kinda like knitting a sock, or piecing a quilt top.  Little by little, piece by piece your sock or quilt will come together.  Is it tedious?  Sometimes.  Is it worth it?  Hell YES!

I’d love to hear about your life has challenges which you have overcome, by diligent and patience, and a great coach.  You can comment below. Because the truth is, we need each other and we can’t do it alone.

CUSTOM COMMISSIONS

And don’t forget, I make custom commissions too! Read what my client Glenda had to say about her custom commission experience:

“Normally, I would be anxious about commissioning someone to do a work of art such as this. However, I felt a connection to you when Leigh showed me your work. It resonated with me and when I met you, you seemed almost a personification of your work. I immediately felt comfortable with you and knew that what you would create would be stunning. And it is!”
