Piedmont Quilters Guild Show

Hi Everyone!

A big welcome to all the new readers!  Last week I had a booth at the Heartbeat of a Quilt Show in Greensboro, hosted by the Piedmont Quilters Guild.

Actually, I was only there for the latter half of the show.  In one crazy day, I flew home from Ohio  from the Quilting Arts TV shoot, finished packing, then drove to Greensboro with my car full of my booth stuff.  Next morning I arrived at the venue, and quickly set up with the help of other vendors, and my host, Nancy Gorgen.  She provided the sheets, since my usual mesh walls wouldn’t work this time.  Thanks Nancy!

Luckily, no extra lights were needed, since this venue usually hosts expensive vintage cars and was very well lit.

Here’s an album of some of the beautiful quilts I saw there:

My apologies if I didn’t get the artists name attached to the right photo.

I also loved this one from a fabulous collection of Scott Murkin’s work:

And here’s a toot of my own horn, my piece Silver Linings got a 2nd place ribbon!

When I was at the beautiful home of my hostess, Nancy Gorgen, I was treated to a house full of 5 week old labradoodle puppies!  Nancy breeds them, in addition to running a home, and a longarm quilting business.  Wow, so check this little video out:

Puppies

At night they all got a little bath, and we all got to hold a towel wrapped puppy until they got dry.  It was like holding a puppy papoose!  Then they all had play time in the family room, and chased each other around until they passed out.  So cute.  Anyway, if you want one of these puppies, they are going fast- you can contact Nancy at 323-610-3285.

In other news:

The Master Art Quilter’s Guild is going strong!  This group is having fun, making art quilts, and getting really good at critiquing each other.  I love how everyone’s work is so different!  Next week, I will share some more about that group, and what they are up to…..

As always, a big thanks for reading!

However, I felt a connection to you when Leigh showed me your work. It resonated with me and when I met you, you seemed almost a personification of your work. I immediately felt comfortable with you and knew that what you would create would be stunning. And it is!” About Roxane Roxane-Web-Images-007 Roxane is a full time studio textile artist and teacher with two girls and 1 fat cat.
