Posh Pets Almost Done!

Hi Everyone! A big welcome to all the new readers!

Remember Mr. Whiskers, Connie’s pet portrait?

Here he is after some free motion quilting.  After some practicing on a quilt sandwich, Connie was very brave and started right in on his fur.  She used a thicker thread to make those fabulous whiskers.  That’s a great way to make a bolder quilting line- with some 12 wt. thread!  She pre marked her chair with a black fabric marker, and will go back and stitch it later with black thread.  I can’t wait to see it done.

And how about Jack?  Mary added textured stitching to make his face come alive.

Adding some fantasy trees and foliage really sets him off.

I still can’t believe what a little paint and thread can do to make these pets come alive!  I hope to teach this class again in the near future, so stay tuned.

Last week I took a very quick trip to Asheville to visit my youngest daughter.  It was way too cold, but we had a great visit, and I took this picture in one of the shop windows.  Hmmmm, maybe a new quilt??  Why not? Inspiration is everywhere!IMG_1798
