Hi Everyone! A big welcome to all the new readers!
So unless you haven’t been paying attention, I’m hosting a contest to win a spot in my new online class, DESIGN YOUR DREAM ART QUILT.
It’s ok! I know you’re busy- it’s the Holidays, right?
But I don’t want you to miss out. I’m so excited to be offering this online class that will help you imagine, create and make an art quilt you have always dreamed of making.
To enter, here’s all you have to do: send me a picture privately to firstname.lastname@example.org of anything that you are making right now.
Why am I offering this class?
Because, I believe in making fiber art from your heart- not just copying other people’s patterns. You have the potential to make something uniquely yours. But we stop ourselves, because:
• we don’t think we’re good enough, lack the confidence
• we don’t have the skills yet
• think we’re not “creative”
• you fill in your reason/excuse here 🙂
In this class, we will be working together as a group. We will learn the ins and outs of designing an art quilt top from start to finish. We will have specific directions on HOW to construct your piece, if you’re not sure.
Let’s see what the other readers have entered so far…
This one from Michelle is a powerful, skilled realistic portrait.
Janet, from the UK, sent this beautiful floral piece she did in Melinda Bula’s class. I met Janet recently in one of my classes in Houston.
Joyce recently created this stitching sampler in one of my Thread Play classes. I love how she used her new stitching skills to create line variety and movement in a cohesive composition.
This little gem is from Pat Kaufman, who used different textures, and kinds of stitching to create this piece. Pat has just completed my other online class, It’s Elemental!
And Beth Markel sent in this cool piece in. She created it using TAP transfer paper which gives it an implied texture. She also shared with me that she recently lost someone close to her, and making this piece was helpful in working through her grief.
And last week, Stefanie sent in her entry- a beautiful nuno felted vest.
BTW, I asked permission to post these so y’all could see them. If you want to enter the contest, but you don’t want me to share it, that’s fine.
Remember, one lucky, randomly drawn person who sends me a picture of something they made as a result of this challenge will get free entry into my new online class starting in January 2016. This is a $397 value and the name of the class is Design Your Dream Art Quilt!! I will do the drawing on Dec. 23rd.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is for you if:
• you want to make beautiful art quilts, but you don’t know where to begin
• you talk yourself out of trying, because you don’t think you’re “artistic”
• you want the support of a group
• you think to yourself, I’ll do this someday, when I’m ready (that day never comes)
• you want help with composition, color, design, while you are working on a piece you’ve always wanted to make
If you know you could benefit from a small online class like this, please go to: DESIGN YOUR DREAM ART QUILT to register. (You can still enter the challenge and if you win, you will get your tuition refunded 😆
The Needle Felting Flower video IS ready. So if you haven’t seen it and want to get your free pattern- just email me and I’ll send it your way. See below.
