Welcome to all the new readers! Last week I travelled to Asheville for my Gold Mastermind Retreat with Christine Kane, and my fellow entrepreneurs. I met so many wonderful people, one of them a fellow artist who flew all the way from Scotland! Here’s a bit of what I learned…..
One of the most important questions I heard was:
What does your soul want to do?
When I get overwhelmed, or discouraged, or can’t decide on something, this is the question I will ask myself. When you get quiet, and listen, you can always rely on the wisdom in your own being.
For example, as artists, how many times have we doubted ourselves? Many, right? You’re working away in the studio on a piece and you feel stuck, but you don’t know why. You start to doubt yourself, your skills, your talent, and on and on. And before you know it, you are checking email or doing laundry or some other busy work. Because you listened to the “other” voice.
This voice may disguise itself as your practical self, your self effacing self, or your downright mean self! I call mine “Bitchy Betty”! She is a real task master, and is full of disparaging comments on whatever I am making or doing. As you can imagine, having her in charge is NOT helpful when it comes to making art. Do you have a “Bitchy Betty” living in your head too?
If so, I have some good news.
With a little support, and some re-direction, Betty doesn’t have to run the show. When I ask my soul instead, I always come up with an answer that is kind, and effective.
And that’s where the huge benefits of working with a coach come in. With the support of my coaches and my group of fellow entrepreneurs, I now have a choice about who is running the show called my life, my career, and the difference I make in the world.
But it doesn’t happen magically. It requires patience and practicing new habits. This is exactly why I developed my Private Art Quilting Coaching program and Master Art Quilters Guild for small groups.
And now the year is rapidly drawing to a close. (How did that happen?) If you are ready to close out the year with a bang, I still have a few spots open in my Private Coaching Program. Ask yourself what your soul wants to do.
IF the answer is to create new art quilts, discover you voice, and have more clarity and joy in the process, then hit reply to this email. I will send you more info.
Next year my prices will be going up, but there’s still time to take advantage of this year’s lower prices. And I always offer a nice juicy bonus for those who are quick starters.
So if you choose to enroll in the Private Art Quilting Program between now and November 30th, you will get THIS year’s price, plus my new download-able tool: It’s Showtime! (Best Practices for Getting Your Work into Shows).
I’d love to coach you to make the amazing art quilts you have in your head. Just hit reply and we let’s talk about it.
One of my virtual students from California in the MAQG recently said,
“Just completed our 2nd personal coaching session. I am totally jazzed and ready to go to work! Roxane propels me forward at a greater speed than I would have moved, by confirming my ideas and encouraging me to reach for goals now instead of latter. She inspires me to go broader and deeper with my work.” ~Susan
Reminder, the next MAQG will kick off in January- so keep that in mind if you’d like to join in the fun. If you have any friends who would like to jump in, invite them too!
Remember to look at the next Quilting Arts Magazine– I have an article in there!!! It will be the Dec/Jan issue.
What are you working on? I love to see your comments and pictures. You can head on over to my FB page and share some photos of your creations too! https://www.facebook.com/RoxaneLessaArtist

CUSTOM COMMISSIONS And don’t forget, I make custom commissions too! Read what my client Glenda had to say about her custom commission experience: “Normally, I would be anxious about commissioning someone to do a work of art such as this. However, I felt a connection to you when Leigh showed me your work. It resonated with me and when I met you, you seemed almost a personification of your work. I immediately felt comfortable with you and knew that what you would create would be stunning. And it is!” About Roxane Roxane is a full time studio textile artist and teacher with two girls and 1 fat cat. She is a 2012 Niche Award Winner and exhibits her work all over the world.
