Thank you for coming to the Vintage View Quilt show!

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for coming to the Vintage View Quilt show!  We had huge attendance.  I saw many old friends and met many new ones.  Special thanks to Cathy Hedberg and her husband for the help before, during and after the show.  In case you couldn’t make it, here are some pictures:

I couldn’t take too many, since I was working in the booth.  If you go to Capital Quilter’s Guild website, I bet they have some more good pics.  I did get to try out some long arm quilting machines- who knows, maybe there is one in my future?

ROXY RECOMMENDS

Join SAQA.  Studio Art Quilters Assoc.

“Founded in 1989 by an initial group of 50 artists, SAQA now has over 3,000 members: artists, teachers, collectors, gallery owners, museum curators and corporate sponsors. A dedicated core of volunteers and staff keep the organization vibrant, dynamic, and progressive.”

They have many levels of membership and you don’t have to be professional.  There are shows to enter, so many wonderful resources and art quilters to ogle.  And guess what?  Yours truly is going to be on a webinar next week with Freida Anderson and Wen Redmond (2 well known art quilters) about selling your art work.   But ya gotta be a member to watch it, and there are only 100 spots.  So get yer butts in gear, and join SAQA today!

Did You Know?

That I am on Pinterest?  Did you know that there are many amazing art quilts and traditional quilts being pinned every day, just waiting for you to look at?

Never before has so much inspiration been in one place.  It’s like having an art museum in your hands.  If you haven’t checked it out, there are many, many types of things being pinned.

It’s super easy to get started.  You can take a look at my pins, which are organized on different “boards” HERE.  Once you are on that page, you can click on the Get Started Button to make your own page on Pinterest.  Then start pinning!  I can spend a lot of time on Pinterest, because it’s all visual.  And I have a feeling, you will too!

CUSTOM COMMISSIONS

And don’t forget, I make custom commissions too! Read what my client Glenda had to say about her custom commission experience:

“Normally, I would be anxious about commissioning someone to do a work of art such as this. However, I felt a connection to you when Leigh showed me your work. It resonated with me and when I met you, you seemed almost a personification of your work. I immediately felt comfortable with you and knew that what you would create would be stunning. And it is!”
