I know, I know a much over used pun. But that’s what 3 of my students and myself named ourselves after dyeing in my back yard all day on Sunday. We laughed, we dyed, we sweated in the 90+ heat, but we all ended up with some yummy hand dyed fabric.
Anyone interested in joining our group for future dyeing fun can contact me. We can always change the name of the group!
Speaking of teaching: don’t miss these upcoming classes: Fused Applique and Painting-Morning glory or Angel’s Trumpets @ Bernina World of Sewing, in Raleigh on July 15th, 1:30-4:30. Hurry, class is almost full!! And my new thread class ThreadUtopia @ Thimble Pleasures in Chapel Hill July, 10th 1-4 pm. and in September, Color Play for Quilters, Sept. 10th, 10-4 pm. Call stores to register.
The new piece is coming along, but had to take a break to work on some other projects. At least it’s fused, layered and I started the quilting.
Also, completed recently: my toe up 2-at-a-time socks made on 1 circular needle! Best part- no 2nd sock to knit.
AND my new knitting bag, made at Bernina World of Sewing in Prabha’s class. Very time consuming to make, but pretty, no?
We wrapped clothesline with batik strips, sewed them together, made them into panels and sewed them together by hand and added the handles. I really love the pockets for all my knitting gadgets and needles.
I’m off to Boston next week for some dancing and visiting family with my kids. Should be fun! Hope your Summer is as busy and fun as mine is shaping up to be.
