FEATURE ARTICLE: Trig Modern, a Great Place to Get Mod!
The first time I walked into Trig, I really liked the vibe. It was cool without being pretentious. The colors were vibrant, the furniture was clean and elegant with a touch of fun. Plus, they have uber cool lighting! By the way, Trig means, “trig (adj.) british dialect. smart and trim, as in lifestyle, neat. stylishly fashionable, up-to-date, modish.” I thought to myself, hey, I could really see some of my art with this cool stuff! So I asked, Lee Tripi, one of the owners if I could be an artist of the month, and he agreed!
I love the top one; it’s a kid’s bedroom!
About the owners:
Trig Modern is a collaboration of two of the areas’ leading experts of the modern style. Bob Drake is a furniture and lighting specialist and owner of the former Metro showroom of Charlotte for the previous 26 years. A firm belief in quality customer service is the reason for his longevity.
Establishing his presence in the Triangle over the past 22 years, Lee Tripi is a designer of furniture, interiors, landscapes and planner of modern kitchens and bath. A devotee of the Asian-Modern aesthetic with its clean lines and clutter- free philosophy, his influence can be found throughout North Carolina and as far as Europe.
